Historical Scripts - Uncials

The missionary St Augustine brought uncial script to Britain from Rome in AD 597. This script became associated with Christianity and was widely used for copies of the Bible. Uncial letters are a single case only and developed from a need to write quickly.

Today Uncial is widely used where Roman Capitals are too formal.
